How We Built My Golf Cart

In 2008 we bought a camper at Skyline RV resort in Darien, NY. At the resort you are able to use a golf cart. So we decided to buy a cart. We found one, and this was the beginning to a long story. The cart worked perfect until we found out how golf carts should work. You step on the gas pedal and expect the engine to start. This golf cart however, didn’t. You needed to open the seat and start it. After the season we decided to make it like regular carts.
On Craigslist we found an old engine made for our cart. We took out the old one and put on the new one and we found out the engine was missing parts. I found this website called buggiesunlimited.com. They sell all kinds of golf cart stuff. This is where the real trouble comes in. Our golf cart is a Hyundai and the Hyundai Golf Car Division went out of business in 01. So parts were scarce. I Then found that buggiesunlimited.com had a forum section. I joined the forum and this guy was selling all kinds of Hyundai parts. We bought the parts, and finally when we thought we were in the home stretch, the engine blows smoke out of the exhaust pipe. The piston rings were bad. So much for our hard work! Over the winter we are going to take out the engine and try to find replacement piston rings.

How I Built My Minibike

It all started when I was 10. I had always wanted a motorcycle that I could ride. My dad and I went to the Yamaha dealership looking for a dirt bike. The catch was I had to pay for it. I had about 300 dollars. My dad was telling me that when he was little he had a minibike. We saw an add for Pep Boys auto and they had a minibike for sale for 250 dollars. When we got there they showed us how it worked and we bought it.
When I got home I was riding it and it seemed to go pretty quick. After a while it got really boring. My neighbor and I made a trade, my old electric scooter for an engine twice as powerful. The engine is a five horsepower Tecumseh off of an old snow blower. So I took off the old engine and sold it. He gave me the engine and it needed a pull start, muffler, and a clutch. After we got the engine on we needed to modify the chain. We pulled two links off and then we put the chain back on. Once we put the chain on, we were able to run it. The engine doesn’t run as it was expected to. We took it to a guy that fixes motors. We will get it back in one week and it should run good.
Update: We got the minibike back and now it runs perfectly. The guy that fixed it said that he got it up to 30 miles an hour and a side street.
